48th Annual Gas Engine Meet – 2019
Featured Engine: All large Engines – 6HP or larger
By Diddie Staples
The weather was perfect for the 48th annual Dublin Gas Engine Meet held September 6,7 & 8 at Cricket Hill Farm. Collectors came from the Northeast, Canada, and one from Florida to display their large and small antique gas or steam engines or their antique tractors, cars or trucks.
There were many working displays. Each year more railroad track is laid. The locomotive, largely worked on by Will Weidner, was on display.
The children, once again, enjoyed the barrel car rides, the toy-filled sandbox and watching baseball bats being made. A flagpole was built in memory of Cles Staples, who was one of the founders of the Dublin Gas Engine Meet in 1972 and an active participant through 2017.
